Shown on the big screen for the first time, these eight videos feature contrasting visual genres and styles, from hallucinogenic Japanese anime and eerie subaquatic surrealism to Australian suburban noir and a TV talent show pastiche, reworked from a First Nations perspective.

Featuring a Q & A with some of the artists and live musical performance by dark wave folk songstress Inga Liljestrom.

“Many Melbourne bands put a lot of ingenuity and effort into story-telling with their music clips. We wanted to provide some of our favorite artists with the opportunity to show their mini-masterpieces in a cinema, share the stories of their creation & get feedback from an enthusiastic audience” explains Melbourne-based songwriter James Marples, presenter of the event.

Presented by James Marples with guest curator Nicole Skeltys. Tickets available from Thornbury Picture House.
