1. Angus and Julia Stone. When music and the creative spirit is in the family there is something special that happens when they perform. You can trace their influences and musical roots back through the generations The honesty that comes through is comforting and transcends boundaries. We try to have a similar approach and intent with our songwriting.

2. Di Vinyls. Chrissie Amphlett is the epitome of the Australian female rock legend. She broke so many boundaries for women in the Australian music industry, and used a combination of stage performance and energy that is unmatched – a shining star that will be remembered for eternity.

3. Crowded House. I never underestimate the power of chemistry that rarely comes along. When Neil Finn, Nick Seymour and Paul Hester joined together, it was a monumental combination of musical talent, incredible songwriting ability and musical x factor. Crowded House have been firmly etched into the landscape of rock history.

4. Gotye and Kimbra. These two rate highly in our estimation because they have both pushed the boundaries of the creative envelope to the max.  Having Aussie’s crack it big time in the US market is a reason to cheer louder. Kimbra with her theatrical rock flare, Gotye with some great songs and video clips, they’ve have both led the way for the next legions of Australian music artists..

5. Sia. When a contemporary Australian artist consistently writes so many memorable songs, and stays at the top of their game on an international level for as long as Sia has, Tallulah and I take  solace in the knowledge that anything is possible. Great and unexpected things can happen in a music career at anytime. You just have to be prepared to ride the roller coaster, hang on tight and keep that vision going.
