80s iconic synth-pop band Soft Cell is set to make their Australian debut in April 2025.
This highly anticipated tour will see the duo performing their seminal album Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret in its entirety, alongside a selection of their greatest hits. Fans can look forward to experiencing timeless tracks such as Tainted Love and Where Did Our Love Go. Additionally, Marc Almond will perform his solo hits, showcasing his extensive career.

Marc Almond expressed his excitement about the tour: “I have always wanted to go to Australia. Over my 45-year career (yes, that long) fans have always asked me when it might happen, so I’m overjoyed to say that it is happening. And to perform both as Marc Almond with my solo hits, and then transform into Soft Cell on the same night will be another first. Everyone tells me Australians love to party and it promises to be something very special.”
Soft Cell, consisting of Marc Almond and David Ball, achieved major success in the 1980s. Their 1981 hit Tainted Love topped charts in 17 countries and became one of the year’s best-selling singles. Their debut album, Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret, went platinum and featured hits like Bedsitter and Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.
The duo’s influence on the music scene is profound. With 25 million sales, six UK top 10 singles, and a BRIT Award, Soft Cell set the synth-pop standard for bands like Pulp, Erasure, and the Pet Shop Boys. Their impact also extends to the industrial scene and contemporary alt-pop music, including samples on Rihanna’s S.O.S.
Marc Almond’s solo career has also been notable. Known for his bold, androgynous image and contributions to LGBTQ+ culture, Almond has inspired a generation with his fearless approach to music and personal expression.
