Snarky Puppy announce Bluesfest sideshows

New York jazz-fusion-jam collective wunderkinds Snarky Puppy have announced headline sideshows across the country next April, following their slot on Byron Bay’s Bluesfest.

Snarky Puppy’s sound is a striking improvisational collision of white and black American music with members also hailing from Japan, Argentina, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Puerto Rico.

It’s hard to say who we’ll see on stage as Snarky Puppy next year as the group’s revolving door lineup is a quasi-collective of nearly 25 players, known as the “Fam”. Many of them are staples in the live bands of Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and D’Angelo as well as carrying producer duties for acts like Kirk Franklin, David Crosby, and Salif Keïta.

The group haven’t released a record since 2016’s Culcha Vulcha but it’s safe to say each show will be a singular mix of improvisation and interpolated studio material.
