Icelandic post-rock pioneers Sigur Rós are set to make a triumphant return to Australian shores in May 2025 for a series of unmissable orchestral performances.
Teaming up with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra, the band will deliver their signature ethereal soundscapes in a series of truly special concerts. Sydney will also host the band across three dates.
The tour will feature two standout performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Hamer Hall, showcasing the band’s most intimate album yet, ÁTTA, released in June 2023.

Secret Sounds and Double J have teamed up to bring the much-loved band back to Australia for this unique tour. Sigur Rós’ mesmerising performances are renowned for their emotional intensity, blending ambient electronics, rock, and orchestral arrangements, led by Jónsi’s haunting falsetto. The band has a history of pushing boundaries, starting with their breakout album Ágætis byrjun in 1999, which won the Shortlist Music Prize and earned them international acclaim. Over the years, they’ve continued to captivate audiences worldwide, including appearances at Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza.
Following their 2022 world tour, which marked the band’s return after a five-year hiatus, Sigur Rós now bring their orchestral magic to Australia. The tour will combine fan favourites with selections from ÁTTA, their first album in a decade, recorded with strings at Abbey Road Studios.
