Hailing from Saint Petersburg, SHORTPARIS is widely celebrated as one of the most exciting experimental bands emerging from Russia today. They have performed in an array of venues—from Saint Petersburg strip clubs to Berghain—and opened for the likes of The Kooks, alt-J, and Lebanon Hanover. They have also graced the stages at Haldern Pop, OFF Festival, Pop-Kultur Berlin, and The Great Escape in Brighton, England.
The band’s sound is difficult to categorise. Combining post-punk, electronic, Russian folk and avant-garde elements, they put on a complex performance showcasing intense vocals and theatrical stage presence.
