Ballroom culture meets Melbourne's club scene with jungle vibes at Section 8 this November.
Section 8 and House of Diesel are teaming up for the fourth edition of Hella Queen on 3 November, bringing ballroom categories, DJ sets and pop-up performances to the venue. The free event kicks off at 2pm with a jungle theme, running through til late with sets spanning RnB, bailefunk, afro, house and vogue beats. DJs on the lineup include Aaliyah Salem, Brina, Tavonga, Syrus, Cuddles, Bebecito and Dashรฉ, keeping the energy up from afternoon through to the early hours.
The ballroom categories return with cash prizes up for grabs across four competitions. Best Dressed offers $300 to the winner, while Booty Me Down and Body OTA each come with $100 prizes.

The Lip Sync Battle will award $200 to whoever takes out the top spot, with battle tracks to be announced closer to the date. Judges for the night include OA Australian Mother, Jada Givenchy, Aniyah Givenchy, Makei and Silky, with MCs keeping the categories moving throughout the event.
Beyond the ballroom action, the venue will have themed cocktails and slushies flowing, plus a tooth gems pop-up for anyone wanting to add some sparkle. Prize packs for category winners come from various sponsors including local businesses. The jungle theme opens up plenty of room for creative fits, with organisers encouraging attendees to embrace the concept when putting together their looks for the categories.
