We glowingly reviewed Sampa’s 2019 release The Return – stacked with features from artists of African descent, Australian and abroad. Nineteen tracks is a lot to ask of any listener but Sampa’s control of cadence paired with well-produced, well-performed instrumentals and choir sections, is enough for you to chronically listen to ‘just one more’.

“I feel very free in the moment when I create music,” she told us at the time. “Nothing else matters. Even the insecurities start to shed off and you get to the point where it’s like, actually, my soul’s just speaking. It’s just absolute freedom.”
