First up were Sugar Fed Leopards, a sultry eight-piece, dressed up in sequins and falling somewhere between disco and soul, they gave the crowd a healthy dose of doo-wops and boog-a-loos, with lead singer Steph Brett showcasing a very impressive and tenacious vocal range.
Pony Face followed suit and hypnotised the audience with an ample set of transporting riffs, thundering grooves and brilliant implementation of the delay pedal.
The room was buzzing with anticipation by the time Saint Jude hit the stage, suited up for the occasion in their Sunday best; singer Brooke Penrose even going so far as to sport an absolutely delightful white chrysanthemum. They launched straight into the single lead single from their latest LP Laurelie, which had the audience captivated the word go. For the following hour they put on an impressive display of immersive songwriting and unyielding harmonies, keeping the audience captivated with a mix of old and new.
