Strap on ya boots, don those bike leathers and get ready to get raunchy. Titty Twister is coming to town.

After a decade between parties, the freakiest, sleaziest and sexiest event in town is back – even freakier, sleazier and sexier than ever. The famed Titty Twister is taking over Abbots Yard this Saturday November 9, fitted out with all the bells, whistles and bawdy spectacles of your wildest fantasies.

If you thought the inner-city pocket of Abbotsford was a quiet, quaint family suburb, think again. Leave the kids at home, dust off your leather jackets, and prepare to feel filthy in all the best ways known to humankind.

This daytime festival is transforming the beloved Abbots Yard on Victoria Street to a Mexican desert town straight out of a film from the ‘90s. Straight out of Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn, to be exact. Inspired by this freaky cult classic, the Titty Twister crew are turning Abbots Yard into a whiskey-slinging, tequila-swigging, dust-ball bar for one day only.

If there’s any one way to return to the events calendar after ten years, you can bet that Titty Twister knows how. The festivities will be beginning at midday, with an onslaught of performers, musicians and the usual Titty Twister revelry continuing through the day and well into the night.

A roundup of the hottest trigger-ready musos in town are assembling on this inner-city mirage to bring you the raunchiest sounds to get freaky to. The day will kick off with performances from gothic country, punk and rock four-piece Dead Rodeo and psychobilly-surf-garage-punk trio Traumaboys leading the event. DJ Mermaid will also be wrangling the decks for all your rocking out throughout the night.

A throwdown for the ages

It’s a good idea to get down to the showdown early. The party begins at 12pm in a blatant disregard for the assumption that freaky stuff can only happen once the sun goes down.

Any and all assumptions or expectations can high tail it out of here. This is an event filled to the whiskey glass brim of the unexpected. Consider this a warning to all you cowboys, cowgirls and cowthems – Titty Twister isn’t any ordinary hoedown.

While a sonic escape of eclectic beats from a range of rowdy music-makers soundtrack the day’s events, the effects of too much tequila and the dust filled venue will be kept at bay with a bonanza of activity.

Performances to make you yeehaw

A shoot-out of performances upon the stages will see a fierce crew of outlaws providing feasts for the senses. The lineup features Sparkarella, Elle Diablo, Kitty Obsidian, Caroline Cazcapter, Craig Chrystie, Vanessa Versace, April Savage, Lalita Luna, Veronica Waite, Ryley Moore, Jess Maylek, plus the electric GoGo dancers and show-stealing MCs.

As if those wildcats weren’t enough to have you feeling bent, the filthy fun doesn’t stop there. There’ll also be pole dances, sideshows, metal grinding, fire shows, stripteases, floor-flow peep shows and a hell of a lot of tunes to dance to, fit for a good Mexican border tavern.

It’s as safe as a six-shooter in its holster to say that Titty Twister will be everything you expect from a bar for its carnitas, chicas and calientes. The entertainment will continue throughout the day and into the night, well beyond the sun setting at dusk. Every corner of the venue will feature honky-tonk, freak shows and a heck of a lot of twisted fun.

Saloon festivities for the curious

Titty Twister is an adults-only event, but beyond age-appropriate entrance requirements anyone partial to a showdown is invited. Park out front for the rock’n’roll or get down for the striptease. Either way, you can bet there’s something in this desert dream for every travelling soul.

This arts-focused day of festivities places some of the country’s most unique artists and performers centre-stage. It’s high noon that Naarm’s events calendar welcomes back an event as creative and as passion fuelled as Titty Twister.

Kick up the dust, throw back some hard liquor and get ready to show off your freak. Word to the wise – high tail it to the ticket link. This once-in-a-decade event is sure to have the herds stampeding to this slice of wicked town.
