The indie label grew out of a Melbourne bedroom in 1989 and have now released over 250 titles. To celebrate the milestone, they have put together some specially curated shows featuring some of the acts that Rubber Records have hosted over the years.
Throughout December there will be the opportunity to see one-off shows by a host of artists from the label, centered around a three-week Wednesday night residency at the Northcote Social Club. The residency will open with The Casanovas playing their first show in several years, they will play their greatest hits as well as tracks from their forthcoming record. Support on the night will be from The Affected, who will be taking the stage for the last time. The other two nights of the residency will see bZARK in a one-off reformation show, also featuring brief sets from each members current musical projects and a Cordrazine acoustic set with support from The Genes in their first Melbourne show in ten years.
The other two nights will see the celebrations move to Howler, featuring 1200 Techniques in their first show in over a decade and capping off with undergroundLOVERS taking the stage.
