Riverboats Music Festival has brought home the gold at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards, beating out seven other events.

It’s the second year in a row Riverboats has nabbed the gold for the tourism awards’ events and festivals category. The festival was up against 121 submissions this year, with 82 contenders reaching a score of at least 75%.

In a statement, festival director David Frazer said the award demonstrated Riverboats’ growth since its inception.

“We were absolutely thrilled to once again receive such a prestigious statewide award last night, particularly given the outstanding calibre of entrants, Frazer said.

“To receive such positive industry recognition for Riverboats says a lot about how far the festival has come over the past eight years.”

Next year’s festival lineup features The Waifs, Tex Perkins and the Tennessee Four, Augie March and many more.
