Synthesisers aren't meant to sound this human, but someone forgot to tell Ryan Lee West.

London producer Rival Consoles returns to Melbourne on 31 January 2026 with his immersive Landscape from Memory audiovisual experience. The UK electronic artist, known to his mum as Ryan Lee West, brings his signature brand of organic-sounding synthesiser work to Elisabeth Murdoch Hall for one night only.

Following a sold-out appearance at Dark Mofo and an extensive global tour, Rival Consoles teams up with digital artist Sky Ainsbury to transform the concert hall into a full sensory experience. The performance spans everything from deep ambient textures to his distinctive take on techno, with many tracks being performed live for the first time.

West has been crafting electronic music for 18 years, starting as the first signee to Erased Tapes records back in the late 2000s. His work has appeared everywhere from Black Mirror soundtracks to massive warehouse parties at London’s Drumsheds, where he’s performed for crowds of 10,000. He’s also sold out venues like London’s Barbican Hall, building a reputation for making electronic music that feels deeply human despite being crafted entirely from machines.

Landscape from Memory, his ninth studio album, emerged after a challenging year away from production. The break from his usual creative routine led to what West describes as his most invigorating record yet, exploring new sonic territories while maintaining the emotional core that defines his work.

Tickets range from $79 to $89 plus booking fees. For more information, head here.
