The season is curated by Roberta Ciabarra and will feature ten films screened over two weeks. Fridriksson was nominated for an Oscar for his film Children OF Nature (1991), which helped to put Iceland on the cinematic map, he is memorable for films such as the cult feature Cold Fever (1995). Kormákur is a versatile film maker, who appears on the cusp of international success with his second English language feature 2 Guns due out this year. His most recent film The Deep will screen during the season, making its Melbourne debut.
