There’s much more to Revolver Upstairs than meets the eye. Dedicated ravers and ragers may flock to the beloved Chapel Street club for moving and grooving until the sun comes up, but true fans of the live music venue know there’s heaps more to discover.
Come for dinner at Colonel Tan’s, stay for the dancing by the cage. Tuesday delivers trivia, while almost every other night is non-stop music. From club rats to rock dogs, electronic fans to punkster pariahs, Revolver Upstairs caters to a wide spectrum of music across its calendar of events each month.

Local filmmaker Austin Green Smith brings his latest work to Revolver Upstairs this February, featuring Melbourne skate identities Ody Fernandez and friends. The premiere marks a rare Thursday night screening at the Chapel Street institution, showing how Revs continues to diversify its programming beyond its usual club nights.

Revolver Upstairs is getting a slice of the Windy City as Garrett David blows into town. A hurricane of a tastemaker, the Chicago DJ emanates his home city and the sounds it has contributed to music throughout his sets. Revs will be playing host to the American beat-maker for what will be his debut set at the iconic Naarm club venue.
Alongside this legend of the game will be support from Ed Taylor, Sandpit Alias and Séarlait B2B J Hart. In addition to the main show taking centre stage upstairs at Revs, you can also expect the usual shebang of Revolver Fridays in the cage from 10pm and Rise & Shine with Sunshine from 7am. Make a night of it with nonstop beats all night through to the next day as this legend of the US scene keeps you moving until the sun comes up.

Hardware and Revolver Sundays team up for a post-Dreamstate session featuring UK hard techno heavyweight Charlie Sparks. Known for his intense fusion of acid, industrial, rave and psytrance elements, Sparks has built a reputation for high-energy sets that have earned him a global following.
The lineup features strong local support across two rooms, with Alice Campbell, Kelly Tee and Sasha Fern among those keeping the cage moving until Monday morning.

On February 14, Revolver Upstairs invites a special guest to the decks to showcase his talent in Naarm. British national Josh Butler is a DJ and music producer who has amassed a massive fanbase down under.
Cutting through the noise of the electronic music scene with his 2013 remix of Got A Feeling, this beat-maker has been on the up and up since. Josh joins a slew of fresh and fierce talents, with Alec Smith, Beno Garcia, JPA featuring Kate Watts, Olly Davis and Sasha Fern all hitting the decks as the night rolls on. Catch the legend himself at Revolver Upstairs this February 14 – you might just fall in love with what he’s got going on.

UK electronic pioneer Skream returns to Revolver Upstairs this February, bringing his genre-spanning selections to Chapel Street. A founding figure of dubstep who’s since evolved into one of dance music’s most versatile DJs, Skream’s sets now traverse disco, house and techno with the same innovation that marked his early career.
The I Feel label boss will be supported by local selectors Henry Who, Olivas, Mike Callander and Kiti, in what promises to be another legendary Revs session. With early bird tickets already exhausted, this one’s likely to hit capacity early.

Off-Grid Entertainment brings an unconventional evening to Revolver Bandroom this February, with Setho’s theatrical BUsY_bOY_zZz show promising more than your standard club night. The performance will blend MC work with live music acts and surprise cameos, creating a narrative through pre-recorded sound grabs and choreographed performances.
Featuring a mix of established names and emerging artists, this multi-genre showcase aims to turn Revs into an immersive playground. Catch this boundary-pushing event at Revolver Bandroom – it’s set to be one of the more unique nights in Melbourne’s electronic calendar.

Chicago is repping hard this month at Revolver Upstairs as Harm’s Way makes their way to the bandroom. The American hardcore punk outfit are no strangers to the stage with almost twenty years of tracks and shows under their belts. What initially began as an unserious side project of a band has since transformed into a trailblazer of the Chicago hardcore scene.
This show at Revs will see Harm’s Way celebrate a decade of their album Rust. They’ll also be celebrating their latest release from 2023, Common Suffering. This will be the band’s first appearance on Aussie shores in a whopping six years. Whether you’re a fan of Harm’s Way or a fan of hardcore music, this isn’t a gig to sleep on. Catch ‘em in town while you can.
