Through interviews with friends and colleagues alongside access to archival footage and family photos, Remembering the Man takes audiences back through 1970s and 1980s Australia to tell this story of love and loss.

The feature length documentary follows their relationship, from its beginning at an exclusive all-boys Catholic school in Melbourne, to its end 16 years later when the AIDS virus struck down both men.

From their awkward schoolboy romance, their parents efforts to keep them apart, their diagnosis with HIV and their battle to stay alive, John’s death, and Conigrave’s race against time to finish writing their story before he died, Remembering The Man covers it all.

Remembering The Man won the Audience Award at Adelaide Film Festival 2015 and Best Documentary Biography at ATOM Awards 2015.
