As the year draws to a close, the City of Maribyrnong invites you to ring in the New Year at the Footscray Park New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Eastern Lawn, this annual event promises an evening of entertainment, nostalgia, and family-friendly fun.
Footscray Park New Year’s Eve 2023
The festivities kick off at 6pm with roving performances by the talented Sway and Indirect Object. There will be carnival rides and games scattered throughout the venue to keep you entertained before the big show.
From the stage, hear the soulful sounds of Cool Out Sun, seamlessly blending soul, funk, and jazz. Following them is the dynamic Indigenous duo, The Merindas, offering mesmerizing vocals and infectious disco-pop tunes to set the spirits high.

The energy continues to soar with an electrifying performance by Regurgitator. Fresh from their Crushing It tour and a high-octane October show supporting KISS, Regurgitator promises a genre-blending musical journey featuring chart-topping hits like Polyester Girl and Happiness.
Bringing the evening to a nostalgic close is Yacht Rock Revival, transporting the audience back to the late ’70s and early ’80s with a dose of retro vibes.
The highlight of the night – the fireworks display – is scheduled for a nice and early 9:30pm. It’ll be a dazzling and mesmerizing circus of light that’ll give 2023 the sendoff it deserves while ushering in a bright, shimmering future.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and little ones, pack a picnic or grab some snacks from the onsite food trucks. Visitors are urged to bring refillable bottles and reusable containers to minimize environmental impact.
This is an alcohol-free event, and organizers encourage attendees to use public transport. Free shuttle buses will be available between Footscray Train Station and Footscray Park.
