Mick Thomas' Roving Commission hit record stores across the country ahead of GoComeBack album release and national tour.

Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission are taking their new album GoComeBack directly to record stores this month.

ARIA Award-winning former Weddings Parties Anything frontman Mick Thomas and his band of fellow travellers have just dropped new single A Mighty Ride ahead of a short run of in-store appearances across Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Hobart.

The record store tour comes before Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission release their new album GoComeBack on 31 October and kick off a full national tour starting 7 November.

A Mighty Ride, sung by Roving Commissioner Brooke Taylor, celebrates Melbourne with the bells of a number 96 tram ringing through a lighthearted call for unity. The track bridges the city’s north and south divide with a joyous romp that invites everyone along for the ride. Both sides rock, apparently.

Hitting up independent record stores is about getting back to human connection in an increasingly algorithm-driven music industry. While streaming platforms underpay musicians and sink money into questionable tech, Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission reckon it’s time to get out there, play some music and actually hang out with the people who support them.

The in-store appearances give fans a chance to connect with the band while supporting retailers who’ve backed them along the way.

GoComeBack lands on 31 October through Coolin’ By Sound Records, with the full national tour wrapping up on New Years Day at Archies Creek.

The run takes in venues across Victoria from Cornella to Castlemaine, with support slots from The Ferriters, Jules Sheldon and the Boundary Riders, and a stacked lineup for the New Years Day show.
