Australian record stores are gearing up for vinyl's biggest celebration, with Pond and Dannii Minogue among this year's releases.
Record Store Day is marking its 18th year with an impressive slate of exclusive Australian pressings, including the return of everyone’s favourite blue heeler family, Bluey. The event will see more than 200 independent record shops nationwide offering limited-edition vinyl, in-store performances, and special activities.
Perth psychedelic outfit Pond headlines the local offerings with a collection of their early works, while pop icon Dannii Minogue revisits Neon Nights with a fresh remix package.

Pond frontman Nicholas Allbrook emphasised the importance of preserving physical record stores in our increasingly digital world: “Have you ever watched the movie Empire Records? Have you gazed upon the cover of DJ Shadow’s album Endtroducing? Going to the record store is one of life’s greatest, most wholesome pleasures, and if it too gets gobbled up into our phones along with banking, dating and reading, then we are a very, very poxy species indeed.”
The event follows the announcement of international releases from Charli XCX, A Tribe Called Quest, Rage Against the Machine, The Cure, and Sugababes. Record stores participating span the country from Darwin to Hobart, Coffs Harbour to Albany, reinforcing the vital role these spaces play in Australia’s cultural landscape.
