Record Store Day 2016: Vinyl Space

vvinylspace.jpg

If you know what’s good for you, then head down to Johnston St, Collingwood to celebrate Record Store Day 2016 at Vinyl Space. It’s the store’s first birthday, and they’ll be hosting instore performances from two local bands, starting from 3pm. First up are Levitating Churches, Beat favourites whose very existence is devoted to getting the party started. That and fuzz-filled psychedelic boogie music. Then at 4pm Shepparton Airplane are taking over the store. It’s the stupidest band name any of us have ever heard. And that’s surely a fantastic advertisement for these guys’ voluminous rock’n’roll attack. On top of that there’ll be many Record Store Day releases and a bunch of vinyl imports sitting fresh on the shelves. If shiny new stuff ain’t your jam, there’s regularly over 5000 records in store. The range covers rock, new wave, indie, metal, funk, soul, jazz, blues, reggae and much more. There’s also over 3000 CDs, which includes over 500 jazz CDs. Located within, there’s a large selection of new and used vinyl records and CDs.
