It’s the grudge match the stops Melbourne in its tracks each year. Yep, the Reclink Community Cup is back for 2018 pitting the fabled Rockdogs against the mighty Megahertz in a music industry showdown for the ages.

Grab a snag, watch the match, talk some shit, and check out some cracking bands while you’re at it.

“Once again in the depth of Melbourne’s winter our hearts will be warmed by the passion and energy that the Rockdogs and Megahertz bring to the annual iconic event – the Reclink Community Cup,” said Reclink Australia’s CEO, John Ballis.

This year’s event will focus on sending a positive message about sport and community, with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation jumping on as a major sponsor for the first time

“The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is proud to support this iconic Reclink event, which encourages people to participate in community activities and enjoy them for the inclusion and experiences they offer,” said Louise Glanville on behalf of the foundation.

“Terrific competitions like the Reclink Community Cup demonstrate to kids that sport and betting do not have to go together. It’s about shifting the focus back to loving the game, not the odds.”

Funds raised through the Reclink Community Cup support Reclink Australia’s work with disadvantaged communities across Australia.

Reclink Australia delivers specialist sport, recreation and arts programs for at-risk youth, people with mental illness or disability, people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, and those facing alcohol, gambling and substance addictions.

From its inception back in 1993, the Melbourne event now rallies more than 10,000 avid followers who collectively raise over $200,000 every year for the cause.

With last year’s event selling out, your best bet is to get in early for this one.
