Reclink Community Cup announces its star-studded playing lineup

The Reclink Community Cup's playing lineups have dropped and the star-studded teams are a sure sign our favourite footy festival is back to warm up our winter with some no-holds-barred music industry mayhem.

The 26th Victorian edition of the Reclink Community Cup will kick off in the suitably-grand surroundings of Abbotsford’s Victoria Park on Sunday 19 June. The organisers have already confirmed that the 10,000 passionate fans that are usually in attendance will get to witness a barnstorming music lineup of Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Private Function, Ausecuma Beats, Parsnip and Izy.

But now we know the real names we’ve been waiting for…those brave souls willing to don the short shorts in the bitey Melbourne winter and represent the Rockdogs and Triple R 102.7FM & PBS 106.7FM Megahertz.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

After losing by a mere point in the 2019 clash, the Rockdogs have added some powerful units to their team in a bid to reclaim the championship trophy. Felix Riebl of The Cat Empire, Liam McGorrie of Ex-Olympian / Dorsal Fins, Gracey Gibson of Blonde Revolver, Henry Jenkins of Karate Boogaloo, and solo stars Zoë Fox, Scott Darlow and Bec Goring are amongst the slew of musicians taking to the field under the fierce guidance of coach Kylie Auldist and team captains, Fresh Violet and Jimmy Pheonix. In opposition, the Triple R 102.7FM & PBS 106.7FM Megahertz will be fighting tough to retain their championship status for another year, piecing together an imposing collection of footy stars for the big match.

Lead by heroic co-captains Chris Gill and MzRizk, the electrifying Megahertz ensemble features radio favourites  RRR Breakfasters’ Monique Sebire, Daniel Burt, Bobby Macumber and Nat Harris, PBS The Breakfast Spread’s Milo Eastwood, RRR Respect The Rock’s Nicole Tadpole, PBS Underground Love’s Jordan Oakley, RRR The Distant Sky’s Kate Kingsmill, PBS Homebrew’s Maddy Mac and plenty more. In 2022, the Reclink Community Cup’s theme is in honour of Archie Roach, ‘Let Love Rule’, and will raise valuable funds for disadvantaged Australians as Reclink’s principal fundraiser. There’ll also be hot food and cold drinks provided by Gage Road Brewing and kids’ activities.
