Iconic guitarist, Gary Moore, has passed away.

Gary Moore, iconic blues guitarist and former Thin Lizzy axeman, has died in Spain. "It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain last night," reported the late Gary Moore’s official website.

Moore was found dead in his hotel room while holidaying in Estepona, Spain in the early hours of Sunday morning. At this stage the cause of death is unknown but an autopsy is due to take place in the Spanish city of Malaga."Our thoughts are with his children, family and friends at this sad time," continued the website.

Gary Moore was born in Belfast in 1952. His professional career began when he joined the band Skid Row at the tender age of 16 years old. Moore enjoyed various stints as guitarist in Thin Lizzy but eventually found success in his own right as a solo artist, most notably with the songs Still Got The Blues and Parisienne Walkways (featuring Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott on vocals).

Moore worked with various top artists throughout his career including ex-Beatle and notable guitarist, George Harrison).
