Queenscliff Music Festival is “100% committed” to going ahead in 2021

Words by Tom Parker

The beloved festival has just given an update on its 2021 event.

Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) will be doing everything it can to go ahead on the last weekend of November in 2021. In a fresh announcement from QMF, they say they are “100% committed” to delivering its beloved event this year, with the festival busy working on plans to certify that.

“There are a lot of hoops we’ll need to jump through to get there, and we have already begun that process. We expect that there will be some things different about QMF 2021… exactly what that is, we’re just not sure yet,” QMF said in a statement.

“Our aim is to deliver a festival that’s as close to ‘normal’ as we can, maintaining as much of what makes QMF as special as possible. For example, QMF won’t be a single stage, single day, seated outdoor concert… that’s just not us.”

Queenscliff Music Festival continued by saying their are currently working on a COVIDSafe plan for the event, working through the government restrictions and protocols in the process.

“Once we’re confident in moving forward with that plan we’ll start to share some news with you, including lineup announcements,” the statement continued. “A QMF is certainly achievable based on our current COVID situation in Victoria, and current government restrictions.”

The festival would usually have its Early Bird tickets on sale by now but they will be holding off on releasing more tickets until they are ready to “push GO”.

While it’s been a while since we’ve heard from Queenscliff Music Festival specifically, its offshoot, The Pelican Bar, was a huge summer success, bringing over 60 shows and 18 movies to Queenscliff. The Pelican Bar attracted more than 4,000 punters across its ten-week season.
