The scholarship is on offer to local musicians starting out in the regions of Geelong, Barwon South West and the Bellarine Peninsula. It is open to any artist of any age and awarded based on artistic merit and sustainability beyond the funding period.
Last year’s winners Tom Milek and Allister Turril have been putting the support to good use. Milek has been playing shows with the likes of Whitley, Hayden Calnin and Sleep Decade as well as working with producers Colin Leadbetter and Lawrence Greenwood to record and produce hos own album. Turrill recently sold out his CD launch and has confirmed appearances for the Echuca & Moama Winter Blues Festival, Bendigo Blues Festival and Blues on the Briars.
