After changing hands in late 2017, the new team behind Melbourne music institution Quality Records + have been working hard to expand its much-loved collection of new and used vinyl, CD’s, books and accessories.
Located in the heart of Glenferrie Rd, Malvern, QR+ offers one of Australia’s largest selections of Audiophile recordings, including much sought after labels Mobile Fidelity, Analogue Productions and Speakers Corner.
Whether you want to dig through the thousands of used LP’s or chat to the team about their favourite new and old releases, QR+ managers Kelly & Matt Griffiths have worked hard to create an open and inviting space for anyone and everyone to enjoy music and connect.
You won’t find top 40 hits at QR+, rather a vast array of rock, funk, soul, Motown, world, blues, easy listening, orchestral, classical, hip hop, R&B and one of Melbourne’s most extensive jazz collections. The team curate their new vinyl offerings to include classics as well as obscure releases and remasters from every corner of the globe, including records from London’s Soul Jazz Records and LA’s Stones Throw.
An ‘ode’ to nostalgia, QR+’s huge corner location is adorned with all things retro and designed to be somewhere you can spend hours reading, listening or just hanging out. With plans to introduce live music, classic movies, coffee, a monthly ‘open deck’ event and loads more fun, QR+ is a music lover’s haven.
