Q&A With Leticia Maher

And what do you do?

I am one of the performers on the night, and I will also be hosting my Sunday Soiree.

When did you start doing that?

I started performing year 2001, professionally, and I have been developing the Soiree idea for a couple of years now.

Why did you start doing that?

I just cannot think of anything else I would rather be doing. I so enjoy performing and organising events and bringing people together.

Do you think you’re good at doing that?

Well, there’s always room for improvement, however I do think there is an platform of natural talent and desire that I stand on, which makes things a little easier.

If you weren’t doing that, what would you be doing?

I would be thinking about doing it.

What makes you happiest about what you’re doing?

When I see every person is very happy, audience, performers and back stage staff. I really enjoy inspiring people.

And what makes you unhappiest about what you’re doing?

Ahhh. When no one turns up to a gig or event.

What’s you proudest moment of doing what you do?

My proudest moment was watching 2,500 people at an event I organised for the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre in 2009. It was my baby and I watched it grow and I saw it through to the end. I also got to meet heaps of famous people who performed on the day.

And your least proud?

I don’t really have any. I am proud of every moment in music as they all have a little gems.

When are you doing your thing next?

I am planning for the 2012 Adelaide fringe, and looking for more opportunities to present my soiree’s in the future. I am also working on my next album.
