Define your genre in five words or less:
Heavy metal / hard rock
Someone walks passed as you’re playing, they get a beer and tell their friend about you… what do they say?
Huge melodic sound, healthy dose of on-stage shenanigans.
How long have you been gigging and writing?
We only started gigging recently, but we’ve been writing/jamming/polishing in the batcave for about six months.
What’s been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?
The upcoming one! Exchange Hotel with Arcane Saints, Southpaw, Subjektive and White Cell. Great bands, awesome crowd, cheap beer!
Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?
Us against Ronnie James Dio (rest in peace) in his time, one piece leotards, smoke machines, our Kiwi guitarist in a mankini, holy crap.
What inspires or has influenced your music the most?
Everything. As songwriters, we are filtering our experience of life through music … and excessive quantities of alcohol.
What do you think a band has to do these days to succeed?
Play every show like its your last, put everything you’ve got in to every track you write, crack jokes in music mag interviews.
Do you have any record releases to date? What? Where can I get it?
We are in the process of recording tracks for our soon to be released EP, which you can check out on Facebook (also MySpace and ReverbNation), just search Waking Fate.
Why should everyone come and see your band?
We see it as a trade, come to see us, and we’ll give you a melodic wall of sound you won’t forget.
When are you playing live/releasing your album/EP/single/etc?
We are competing at The Espy Artist Showdown on Sunday November the 27, from 6:05-6:30pm in the Gershwin room. DEATH TO ALL BUT METAL!
