Define your genre in five words or less:
Sweaty jungle a$$ warrior queens.
What inspires or has influenced your music the most?
Each other and our sick friendships. In this duo we get to write and play with our best friends and soul sisters. We are many worlds of music and style combined, Hayley comes from a background of theatrical punk and Laura from one of dance, blues and hip hop. But the thing that drives us and what we do is the need to capture what we never have as lead singers in other groups before; the raw power, rhythm and community of sisterhood.
Describe the worst gig you have ever played.
A crazy-arse crowded one with no security, no sound guy and a lone punter and his inflatable Kangaroo bouncing up in our stage zone. It was intense. By the end we got all the babes and other inflatables out of the shadows and had them popping their booties and it became one huge party. It was even mentioned by our friend’s parents on Facebook. Not bad.
Tell us about the last song you wrote.
Our awesome double entendre jam I Got One. It was about quitting our lives as players and only having room for the love and respect you got for yourself and the ultimate one who respects you.
Do you have a pre-gig ritual? If so, what is it?
Having an a capella hand-clap jam with our awesome drummers and crew whilst chugging Propolis and sugar free grapefruit juice and simultaneously covering our Bad Girl Choir in glitter and love. Sometimes a light power-nap, too.
If someone made a movie about your life, who would play you?
Laura: Paz De La Huerta.
Hayley: Bridgette Bardot… or Angelica Houston.
If you could go on tour with any musician or band, who would it be?
Mojo Juju and Beyoncé.
How do you balance making and playing music with your other commitments?
Everyday we hustlin’.
