We hear you’re taking time out of the studio to play Alcatraz At The GH tomorrow night. Have you seen the new look Greyhound since it’s transformation? Apparently it’s the shiz.
We haven’t had the privilege of seeing it first-hand yet but we’ve seen a few online pics and it looks like it might get pretty loose in there.
You recently made the Melbourne finals of the National Campus Bands Competition. Tell us a bit about the comp and your road to the finals.
We’re not big on band comps but thought we’d have a crack at it because we’re big fans of a lot of the winners. It was a bit of fun and we ended up doing a show at Etihad Stadium opening for the AFL and finishing third for the Victorian leg.
Describe your style for those who haven’t seen you.
Big fat riffs, beats and insane harmonies. Think QOTSA driving in a truck one way stopping off the pick up Jimi on the Hume and slamming headfirst into a floor of sweaty punters.
So after Alcatraz, it’s straight back to the studio for you guys. Tell us a bit about the recording.
We’re in a long slow process of doing our debut EP. It’s self produced and recorded across a few locations across Melbourne. Toying with the idea of live recordings for it too. So far it’s sounding huge.
And finally, what jumps out at you as being your most memorable gig?
That’s a hard one but the best was probably when we organised a gig with Brisbane’s Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, Jackson Firebird and Stephen Bowtell. We loved all of the bands and the vibes were heaving with goodness.
