Anna Salen grills Xenograft

So you guys are releasing a live DVD. What’s the best part of making a live DVD?

Getting Rick Moranis to shrink the band then hiding in everyone’s TVs so they think they’re actually watching a DVD when we’re in fact playing live in a condensed format.

What had to be edited out?

Anyone who buys the DVD will know that we have edited very little out. There are keyboard problems, camera winks and general fourth wall breaking shenanigans a-plenty.

Tomato sauce: fridge or pantry?

I tape a bottle to my hand so I never have to leave the couch.

Which song would you like to cover most if you were in a cover band?

The theme from the TV show Louis at 1.5x speed.

Xenograft tackle Anna Salen

We have done a Beat VS interview recently. Who do you think came out as the champions of local street press journalism?

Even though we have songs like How To Be A Man and Karate we’d probably have to get in our Vehicles and retreat as you had us outnumbered 2:1!

Of the songs on your self-titled EP which do you like to play live the most?

We love the song Vehicles. It’s funky, has got an awesome groove and a heavy breakdown at the end.

How’s this interview going?
We’ve already spoken about this, buy us a drink first. Then we’ll bring you home.

Moustache or beard?
I like neither on a lady. But remember kids – if your dad doesn’t have a beard you’ve got two mums.
