Milwaukee punk rockers Direct Hit! have announced their debut Australian tour. On the back of last year’s Fat Wreck LP Wasted Mind, the tour will mark the band’s first time on our shores. Joined by Perth skate punks The Decline, the bands will play The Bendigo Hotel on Saturday September 9.
Los Angeles metallic hardcore lords Nails announced the addition of new guitarist Leon Del Muerte, otherwise known for his work in Nausea. This has restored the band to its 2015 two guitar configuration, filling the gap left by previous guitarist Andy Saba. While the band continued on with frontman Todd Jones playing sole guitar, the dual guitar attack is now back. Despite cancellation of shows and sporadic touring, the band continues to promote their 2016 third album You Will Never Be One Of Us.
Orgcore godfathers Hot Water Music have announced the release of their upcoming new album Light It Up, their first since 2012’s Exister. “The most exciting part about this record for us was self-producing and being in control from start to finish,” vocalist/guitarist Chris Wollard explains. “We haven’t made a record this way since Fuel For the Hate Game. As frightening as it was to not have the safety net and sounding board of a producer, it was just as liberating to make a record that is 100% Hot Water Music, scars and all.” Light It Up is due out Friday September 15 on Rise Records.
Agnostic Front frontman Roger Miret has announced the upcoming release of his autobiography. Entitled My Riot, the book will document Miret’s life as a Cuban immigrant to the US to fronting one of the most influential hardcore bands of all time. From Lesser Gods Books: “Gangs of New York meets Mean Streets in this brutally honest memoir about surviving the treacherous 1980s Lower East Side and finding refuge and a voice in music.
Filled with danger, drugs, and abrasive music, My Riot is the definitive insider account of the volatile New York hardcore scene of the early 1980s. With Roger Miret as front man, legendary band Agnostic Front’s focused fury and aggression defined the times and continue to resonate today.” My Riot will be released this August via Lesser Gods Books.
Due to issues at the pressing plant, Melbourne’s Wet Lips have had to delay the release of their debut LP. The self-titled record is now due out Friday June 30 via Hysterical Records. The band has also announced a national tour in support of the record, playing The Gasometer on Saturday July 22. Album pre-orders are available now.
Long-running rock‘n’roll punks Dwarves have announced the release of an upcoming new EP. Entitled Julio, the EP will feature five new tracks from the band. The band has also planned to release a full-length album next year on Burger Records. Julio is slated for release later this year on Riotstyle Records. They last released the Radio Free Dwarves single in 2015, with the band recently touring Australia last month.
