Generate media coverage in relation to all Victorian Opera activity including main stage seasons across a variety of venues, a substantial education and touring program and Victorian Opera’s key corporate partnerships.
Ensure the development and maintenance of strong, collaborative working relationships with media across a broad range of media including national, state and local newspapers, radio, TV, trade and business publications, websites, social media, street and education press, local newspapers, community radio and television.
Key Selection Criteria and Required Experience:
• At least five years’ experience in media relations, ideally in the performing arts
• A high level of verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to think creatively and pitch a wide range of stories to different media
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and tenacity, with the ability to problem solve.
• The ability to contribute to a team environment.
• Knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts.
