The Australian leg of their tour coincides with the release of their 28th album, Sorcs 80, which sees the band veer into uncharted territory by ditching guitars entirely. Instead, the album features two synth samples alongside bass, drums, and Dwyer’s vocals. Despite this shift, tracks like Also the Gorilla and Termination Office retain the raw energy that has become synonymous with Osees’ sound. The Arts Desk described the album as “pure rough-edged punk,” while Louder Than War called it a blend of influences ranging from Dexy’s Midnight Runners to The Flesh Eaters.
Live performances, however, will still feature guitars prominently. The band’s trademark sound, driven by the duelling drummers Paul Quattrone and Dan Rincon, bassist Timothy Hellman, and keyboardist Tomas Dolas, ensures their chaotic yet controlled shows remain a must-see. Clash magazine praised Osees’ live gigs for their intensity, noting that “sweat flies off the cymbals with each synced crash” as the band powers through their extensive setlists.
Pre-sale tickets will be available starting from 12pm local time, with general sales opening at 12pm on Friday 25 October.
