After eight years and five EPs, prolific music maker Brendan Maclean is releasing his debut album next year – and has graced us with a brand-new track.

‘Hibernia’ is a boppy, indie-pop banger, fronted by Maclean’s pure vocals and backed by an all-star choir. Artists like Kira Puru, Ainslie Wills and Jessica Cerro (Montaigne) lent their voices to the song; an impressive mix that blends together perfectly.

The track was created during a year of songwriting with producer Sarah Belkner, and tells the fictional story of a fire starting at an afterparty.

It’s Maclean’s first release since breaking the internet with the film clip for ‘House of Air’, which caused a massive controversy on YouTube due to its sexually explicit content.

‘Hibernia’ definitely won’t cause the same kind of stir, but it will draw attention to the singer for his strong comeback to the Australian music scene.

Check out the track below.
