Well, not quite yet, but two free art experiences are set to transform Prahran Square into a multi-sensory playground from 10 to 23 November.
Running for two weeks, Ephemeral Collection and The Bubble Emporium bring immersive art, live performance and thousands of bubbles to the Prahran Square. Both works invite audiences of all ages to slow down, look up, and reconnect with wonder through light, sound and spectacle. The works are designed for anyone who’ll stop and look at them, no age restrictions or art degree required.
Ephemeral Collection by Atelier Sisu consists of massive bubble forms standing 7.5 metres tall. During the day, dichroic film surfaces catch the light and throw colours everywhere. After sunset, the installation gets lit up with a soundscape running underneath. It’s one of those things that looks completely different depending on when you rock up.

Making its Victorian premiere in Prahran Square across five nights only, The Bubble Emporium by Homunculus Theatre runs 10 performances with two different acts. At 6pm, The Golden Oldies do their thing for families and theatre types, pumping out 20,000 bubbles per minute. At 8pm, The Boys in Blue turn it into an outdoor dance party with a different energy entirely.
Both experiences bank on the fact that bubbles are inherently watchable. They catch light, drift around, pop, repeat. Add some scale and production value and you’ve got something that works whether you’re there for five minutes or an hour.
Prahran Square gets a bit more interesting for the next couple of weeks. Spring weather, longer days, two art things happening in a public space that don’t require tickets or planning. Just turn up if you’re around.
