Prepare to make a real impact and save lives at Possum Magic, an extraordinary fundraiser dedicated to the endangered Leadbeater’s Possum. Thanks to the collaboration between the Leadbeater Hotel, Stray Fox Events, Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum, and Mountain Goat Brewery, 100% of the ticket profits will go straight to the Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum Foundation. It all goes down on August 19 at the Leadbeater Hotel in Richmond.

Feminist punk band VOIID, hot off the back of their latest release Watering Dead Flowers, are set to headline the evening. Since emerging in 2015, VOIID has been creating a unique space for themselves and their fans in Australia’s DIY underground music scene, having previously released acerbic EPs like Pussy Orientated, Drool and Socioanomaly.
Anji Greenwood leads the band as the vocalist, along with Mina Cannon on drums, Antonia Hickey on bass and vocals, and Kate Mcguire on guitar and vocals.
They’ll be joined by a slew of possum-loving bands, including Sputnik Sweetheart, Kitschen Boy, Dole Manchild, Raging Hormones, Aeroplane Mode, Grass Stains, and OH! Daisy.
All ticket sales go to Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum Foundation, whose mission involves encouraging conservation efforts, providing essential nest boxes, emergency feeding, and conducting vital research programs to develop effective conservation strategies and policies.
Donations can also be made on the day, and the event will feature a special drink crafted solely for the occasion, with all proceeds flowing directly into the foundation’s vital work.
