Saturday Night Fever follows Tony Manero, a 19-year-old Brooklyn paint store worker who transforms into the king of the dance floor every weekend at his local disco. When he partners with dancer Stephanie for a competition, their professional relationship develops into something deeper, forcing both to reconsider their priorities amid the social tensions and working-class struggles of 1970s New York. The story explores themes of escapism and identity as Tony uses the dancefloor as his escape from a dead-end existence.

The production features a stacked soundtrack of Bee Gees classics including Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Tragedy and More Than A Woman. The original 1977 film soundtrack has shifted more than 45 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums ever. This stage adaptation brings those tunes to life with a modern set design featuring high-definition digital scenery that incorporates iconic moments from the John Travolta film.

The cast features Ethan Churchill as Tony Manero and Regan Barber as Stephanie Mangano, alongside George Kapiniaris as Frank Manero and Chelsea Plumley as Flo Manero. Choreography comes from Jamie and Suzi Rolton, with Daniel Puckey serving as musical director and costume design by Dani Paxton.

Drew Anthony’s career spans everything from musical theatre to major international events including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Closing Ceremony and White Night Melbourne. His recent productions of Strictly Ballroom and The Wedding Singer have also collected multiple BroadwayWorld Australia awards.
