Plain White T's have locked in their first Australian headline shows in more than a decade.
The Chicago pop-rock outfit will bring their four-date Plain White T’s Australian Tour to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide this October and November, with South Australian favourites Teenage Joans along for the ride. The run marks a long-awaited return to local stages, landing at a moment when the band’s catalogue is connecting with an entirely new generation of listeners.
That fresh wave of attention has a lot to do with Hey There Delilah, which has blown up on TikTok over the past month and found its way to a younger audience 20 years after its original release. The track’s resurgence has pushed it back onto the ARIA Singles Chart at number 87, two decades after it first climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned quadruple-platinum certification in the US. The song also picked up Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 2008.
