Pitch Music & Arts 2026 teases Charlotte de Witte, new rockpool, revamped stages and more

Words by staff writer

Pitch Music & Arts is returning for its ninth edition, happening 6-10 March 2026 on the Grampian Plains.

The beloved festival is shaking things up with a reimagined Pitch Black stage inspired by previous multi-level designs and a brand new addition: the Pitch Rock Pool swimming space. Tom Supple, known for his work with Dark Mofo, Rising Festival and Vivid Sydney, has been appointed as arts curator for 2026.

Pitch Music & Arts dropped its launch video on socials today, drawing inspiration from science fiction and early expressionist films. The clip follows a surreal exchange between a real human and a synthetic counterpart, closing out with Charlotte De Witte’s electronic banger Overdrive. It marks the start of the festival’s 2026 campaign and hints at what’s coming for the event’s return to Moyston.

All three stages are coming back: Pitch One, Pitch Black and the Resident Advisor Stage will host acts across architecturally designed builds with Funktion One sound systems. Architects Ambrose Zacharakis and Henry Howson are returning to design Pitch One’s brutalist-inspired structure, while TOR Studio is handling the cage-like Pitch Black stage that channels Berlin club architecture and historic amphitheatres. Studio Raito, the design collective behind Dekmantel Festival and Waking Life, is taking on the Resident Advisor Stage for an entirely new direction.

The Pitch Rock Pool is a major new development for the festival, offering a swimming space and wellness precinct near the Pitch Pavilion. The Pitch Pavilion itself returns as a space for tangible artworks, ambient sets, wellbeing workshops and a shaded chill space.

After several years of ballot systems, Pitch Music & Arts has switched to a Register or Reserve system for 2026. Festival-goers can either reserve their ticket immediately or wait to secure it when presale begins. Passes are available for two, three or four days with general camping included, plus Premium Camp, Eco Camp and Glamping upgrades. Vehicle passes encourage carpooling and reduced emissions, while charter buses depart from Carlton Gardens with multiple return options.

The 2026 lineup will be announced soon. Pitch Music & Arts is brought to you by Untitled Group, the team behind Beyond The Valley, Wildlands and Ability Fest.
