PETA wants Hunters & Collectors to change their name, reckons it ‘promotes’ the killing of animals

In an effort to raise awareness for the imminent duck hunting season, PETA has called on Hunters & Collectors to consider an “animal-friendly namelift”.

“We feel sure that it was never your intention to promote the killing of intelligent, sensitive and defenceless animals, but your name may nevertheless make hunting seem appealing to your fans,” reads an open letter signed by PETA’s Associate Director of Campaigns Ashely Fruno.

Alternative names suggested from PETA include Hunters & Collectors of Antiques, Hunters & Collectors of Vinyl Records and Hunters & Collectors of Beer Cans.

“By agreeing to change your name, you would help raise awareness of the cruelty inherent in hunting waterbirds and give ducks a fighting chance,” ends the letter.
