The Texan quintet were the winners of the third season of NBC’s The Sing Off, and since have taken instrument-free music to a whole new level. The group is made up of vocalists Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado and Mitch Grassi, vocal bass Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin Olusola.
Following their win, the group released 2 EPs, PTX Vol 1 which reached #14 on the Billboard’s Top 200 and PTX Vol 2 which debuted at #10 on the overall Billboard Chart and #1 on the Independent Album Chart. They also released PTXmas, which became the sixth highest-selling Christmas album of 2013.
Their Youtube hits include a 36-song live journey through the history of music presented in four minutes titled Evolution of Music. The group will also join the cast of Pitch Perfect 2.
