A twisted disco groove anchors a pastiche of perfect melodic composition – almost too perfect, but any semblance of safety is nullified by creeping unease. It’s hard to place Big Shot in the realm of current trend; it’s kinda like if a late 2000s guitar band had a shot at Goldfrapp’s Strict Machine. Maybe. It’s all in the right measure, just short enough to tease another repeat listen.
