Expanding their connections within and services to the arts community, Odeon Richmond is hosting its Music Business Management course Open Day, offering bookings for an unmatched full suite of AV tech for your rehearsals and has a banging month of gigs, movies and parties, making it your one-stop music mecca this February.

MelbBlitz Celebrating Steve Strange

For the fourth instalment of MelbBlitz, Odeon Richmond is paying homage to the legend, Steve Strange. 10 years after Steve’s death, the New Romantic trailblazer will be honoured with a lineup of “true to Blitz” DJs this side of the river.  DJ Randy Lipz XXX, DJ Spooky Shaz, DJ Lady Soul, DJ UltraVelvet and DJ Bricolage will be taking to the decks.  Dress to honour and impress Steve Strange.

Bruce Butler’s Real World Music Business Open Day

Co-owner of Odeon Richmond, Bruce Butler, has worked in the Australian music industry all his adult life amassing an impressive resumé of experiences, knowledge and stories. Due to an abundance of requests, Bruce will share insights and learnings via his Real World Music Business course, beginning in March 2025.

Bruce has always worked to support artists and industry hopefuls find their way in a verydemanding, complex and ever-evolving scene. For the past 10  years, since gaining his Master of Arts Management degree, he has been teaching his Music Business course at Collarts and RMIT. Now, he is offering an independent course to those who prefer to set themselves up working as an artist or industry professional in Australia without studying a two year university Degree.

This course will enlighten, empower and upskill you for your career in the music industry. By the end of the course you also have the option to be registered as a business.

This course commences in March, consisting of 10 three-hour weekly sessions at Odeon Richmond located at 267 Swan Street, Richmond.

Bruce invites you to join him during this course’s Open Day on Sunday 16 February, from 1 pm, where you can discuss the course and enrol for the first series of classes. Places are limited.

Garage Rockin’ Craze: Movie Premiere
