The hazy new track will have you longing for summer music festival moshpits.
Christchurch four-piece Mako Road are back with a new single, ‘Helicopter’, marking another success for the indie-rockers.
Since hitting the ground running full pelt in 2018 with the release of two EPs, The Green Superintendent and Local Safari, the NZ outfit have gained a loyal following with their blend of hazy, psych-rock.
‘Helicopter’ is the perfect summer soundtrack, wielding a hypnotic beat, dreamy riffs and an instantly catchy chorus. And just when they know they’ve got you in the palm of their hand, the track breaks into a kaleidoscopic guitar solo that’ll have you daydreaming of stinking hot days in festival moshpits with a warm tinnie in hand.
Having built a reputation for their electric live sets through appearances at the likes of Splendour In The Grass and Electric Avenue as well their own sold-out headline tours, the ‘Helicopter’ film clip captures the spirit of their intoxicating stage presence.
Documenting their recent sold-out show at Auckland’s Powerstation, the video sees the band totally in their element as they have the whole room hanging on every note.
It’s a safe bet you’ll be hearing this tune a lot over this summer season.
