Nu Jazz Takeover: Erica Tucceri Band

Bodriggy is excited to welcome Erica Tucceri back to the brewpub, for this months Nu Jazz takeover. We’ve seen her jam with multiple bands at the venue, but excited for what she’s conjured up in curating all the music for Thursdays this month.

Erica Tucceri is an improvising flutist, composer and producer who sits at the cutting edge of Melbourne’s music scene. Best known to audiences for bringing the flute to the front with Billy Davis, WVR BVBY and Z*F*E*X, her vibrant performances are fast gaining Erica a reputation as Australia’s go-to flutist.

She had a break out year in 2018, bursting to national attention on JJJ’s Like a Version, soloing alongside US Grammy nominated rapper, Goldlink. Rounding out the year, she featured on two of the hottest debut vinyl releases of 2018 (WVR BVBY and Z*F*E*X), which turned heads internationally, receiving praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Motor City Drum Ensemble.

A multi-award winning musician, Erica integrates concert flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute and electronics into her performances. Some of her festival credits include performances at Golden Plains, the Ubud Village Jazz Festival (Indonesia), and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. She is an alumni of the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music, curated by Grammy-nominated artist Vijay Iyer, and a graduate of both the Jazz and Classical Bachelor Degrees at the Victorian College of the Arts.
