Based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, Rabbit Hole has commandeered more respect by gaining a Golden Globe nomination for Nicole Kidman.

Kidman, who plays female protagonist Becca, spoke candidly about the honour of this prestigious award. “It took more than four years to get our little movie off the ground and to be recognised for my work in a film that means so much to me, is truly such an honour. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for your continued support.”

She was nominated in the category of Best Peformance By An Actress, alongside Halle Berry for Frankie and Alice, Jennifer Lawrence for Winter’s Bone, Natalie Portman for Black Swan and Michelle Williams for Blue Valentine.

Kidman has also been nominated for a Spirit Award for Rabbit Hole, as has her co-star Aaron Eckhart.

Rabbit Hole will be release in Australian cinemas Thursday February 17.
