Papua New Guinean-born, New Zealand-raised artist Ngaiire is celebrating a decade of Blastoma with a very special Brunswick Ballroom show.
Ngaiire heads to Brunswick Ballroom on 10 April to mark ten years since the release of Blastoma; the alt-pop record that cemented her as one of Australasia’s most distinctive voices.
Expect the full album performed live, with those soaring, genre-defying vocals that made Blastoma such a landmark record when it first landed.
Whether you were there at the beginning or are coming to Ngaiire’s music fresh, this is a rare chance to experience Blastoma from start to finish in a live setting,; every track, every moment, in the intimate surrounds of one of Melbourne’s best live music venues.

Blastoma originally announced Ngaiire as a force to be reckoned with; full of lyrical wit, emotional weight, and a bold, unapologetic energy that set it apart from anything else around at the time.
In a previous interview with Beat, Ngaiire spoke about the shift in approach that shaped the record.
“The whole process of putting together this new album forced me to think about what I’m actually trying to say and what I want people to get from the lyrics.”
It was a deliberate step toward clarity and confidence, and it shows in every track.
That confidence didn’t come from nowhere. Produced with collaborators Paul Mac and Jack Grace across studios in London, New York and Sydney, Blastoma was a record built slowly and intentionally, with real care for melody and structure.
As Ngaiire told Beat in 2015, she was focused “more on melodies this time rather than trying to just belt out the words all the time.”
Revisiting it a decade on promises to be something genuinely special. Anniversary shows like this don’t come around often, and Brunswick Ballroom is an ideal spot; small enough to feel personal, big enough to let the music breathe.
Tickets are available now, and this one’s worth locking in sooner rather than later.
