words by staff writer

Multi-platinum UK artist Newton Faulkner has dropped a new single and announced tour dates.

Gravitational is the latest track from Newton Faulkner’s forthcoming album OCTOPUS, set for release on 6 March 2026 through Cooking Vinyl Records.

Co-written with INK, the song captures that instant pull you feel toward someone before your brain has even caught up. Layered vocals meet rhythmic drive and flashes of synth and vocoder, showcasing the playful production style that marks a fresh chapter for Newton Faulkner.

Newton Faulkner describes the track as being about someone catching you completely off guard, like being pulled into a tractor beam. He got to use all his toys on this one, including his vocoder. While people still think of him as the acoustic wood and strings guy, half his life is spent playing synths and messing with loops.

Gravitational follows the release of Hunting Season featuring Lissie and Los Bitchos, plus the distorted bass-driven Alright, Alright, Alright. Both tracks introduced a new sonic direction built around collaboration, experimentation and refreshed creative energy.

Newton Faulkner will return to Australia in April 2026 for a full headline tour. He calls the country one of his favourite places to perform, describing it as a second home with incredible crowds, connection and energy. He’s ready to bring the new songs, new album and fresh energy to Australian stages.
