New study proves magic mushrooms are the safest drug you can take

The boffins behind this year’s Global Drug Survey have done the hard yards for you, surveying more than 12,000 people who have taken psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms and analysing the rate at which participants required medical attention compared to other drugs including MDMA, LSD and Cocaine.

Of the 12,000 people surveyed, a relatively chill 0.2% said they needed medical treatment, clocking in at a rate five times lower than other drugs.

Moreover, the study found that those wishing to trip down the road of psychedelic exploration were cautious when doing so, finding “people who use psychedelics are generally very sensible and show some of the best preparation and adoption of harm reduction practices of any drug.”

Out of all countries surveyed – Australia clocked in at seventh place out of nations “most likely to pick their own or grow their own mushrooms”. Our mates over in New Zealand took out the silver medal by coming in at second place, with purveyors of quality headphones Columbia taking out the top spot.

The study found that the greatest risk with mushrooms was picking the wrong type, which checks out I suppose.
